The Bold and the Beautiful star Clint Howard insisted that he and his famous brother, Ron Howard, are just normal people despite being well-know actors.

While Clint, 66, acknowledged that both he and Ron, 71, have been able to find success as actors, the soap opera star got real about how he actually views their family's success. "I understand that, yeah, what Ron and I have done is very unique," he previously told Fox News Digital. "We're just people that make a living. We're just people that have jobs and, you know, yeah, our jobs are creative, our jobs are creative. That doesn't mean we're anything special."

In light of Clint and Ron's success, the Happy Days alum's daughter Bryce Dallas Howard has also been able to make a name for herself as an actor. However, Clint insisted that Bryce, 44, is just as great of a person as she is an actor and director.

"Bryce is a wonderful, wonderful person; great, great mother; great leader amongst her friends," Clint said of his niece. "She's directing now, and she likes to act, and she's really humble about it all."

Both Clint and Ron began their careers as child stars. While Ron was first introduced to audiences playing Opie Taylor on The Andy Griffith Show in 1960, Clint's first major role was in 1967's Gentle Ben.

In more recent years, Clint appeared in the movies The Old Way and Terrifier 3. Additionally, he guest starred as Tom Starr in 13 episodes of The Bold and the Beautiful, which earned him a nomination at the 2025 Daytime Emmy Awards in the outstanding guest performance in a daytime drama series category.

Following Clint's nomination, Ron spoke to People in September about the major accomplishment. "I know he did a good job because people come up and talk to me about his performance on that," he said of his younger brother.

"And so I saw one episode, I thought he was great," Ron continued. "And it was one of those things where they brought him in for one episode and he wound up doing 10 or 12 of them."

Ron, who has pivoted from an acting career to a directing career, was also asked if he ever gives Clint acting advice, though he said he doesn't often need it after he books a job. "Oh, no, no. He's just fun," Ron said. "When I'm casting, I'm sure he gets notes, but when I'm watching him, I'm just enjoying my brother. He's a very individual talent. Has his own cadence and vibe."

Not only did Clint earn an Emmys nomination in 2025, but so did Ron. The eldest Howard brother earned the nod for his guest starring role as a satirically temperamental version himself on The Studio. However, neither Clint nor Ron won their categories during this year's awards show.

While reflecting on his own nomination, Ron told People that it was a "fun surprise" to be included in the category.

"It never even crossed my mind because it was so beyond the realm of feasibility," he said about the nomination at the time. "So this whole thing is an absolute gift — from out of nowhere. It's really gratifying, really fun."

The final race of the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series season came down to the wire with Kyle Larson beating out Denny Hamlin to secure his second career Cup Series championship at Phoenix Raceway in Avondale, Arizona on Sunday.

Larson was one of the four drivers including Hamlin, Chase Briscoe and William Byron in contention for the title, but Larson managed to finish in third position, ahead of the other three contenders to claim the championship.

The race came with some drama as a late caution sent the finale into overtime.

The 44-year-old Hamlin, who was looking to finally achieve glory after making his NASCAR debut in 2004, found himself three laps away from the win when Byron got a flat tire and hit the wall alongside the track to bring out the caution.

The Joe Gibbs Racing driver, Hamlin, then went to pit for four new tires while Hendrick Motorsports' Larson only got two which placed him in fifth position ahead of Hamlin, who was in 10th.

With not enough time in the race, Hamlin finished in sixth as Ryan Blaney, who was eliminated from title contention last week, took the checkered flag.

It is the second championship for the 33-year-old in 11 seasons. Larson won his first title in 2021 when he joined Hendrick Motorsports.

"Honestly, I can't believe it. We didn't lead a lap today and somehow won the championship," Larson told the NBC broadcast after the race. "Really, I'm just speechless. I can't believe it. We had an average car at best."

An emotionless Hamlin sat in his car, wiping his face with a towel as Larson celebrated with his team. After some time, Hamlin emerged from his car and was greeted by his Joe Gibbs Racing teammates, relishing the fact his sixth attempt at a title wasted away despite leading 208 of the 319 laps after starting on the pole.

"Nothing I could do different. I mean, prepared as good as I could coming into the weekend and my team gave me a fantastic car," Hamlin said. "Just didn't work out. I was just praying 'no caution' and we had one there. What can you do? It's just not meant to be."

Hamlin said his crew chief made the right call with the tires and reiterated that the team did a "fantastic job" while sounding defeated on his future chances.

"I'll try. I got a couple more shots at it but man, if you can't win that one, I don't know which one you can win," Hamlin added.

Larson, the only Asian American to race full-time in NASCAR, has not won a race since May, totaling 24 consecutive races but thanked his crew chief Cliff Daniels for keeping the team together.

"Unbelievable! What a year by Hendrick Motorsports team. Cliff Daniels, everybody," Larson said. "His leadership – his complete leadership just showed that whole race. Keep us all motivated. Always having a plan and all that. So, thats the story of our season."

Briscoe finished in 18th with Byron coming in 33rd after the late issue.

Washington Commanders head coach Dan Quinn said there was no discussion in leaving quarterback Jayden Daniels in the game, a prime-time blowout against the Seattle Seahawks in which Daniels suffered a gruesome left elbow injury.

With the benefit of hindsight, Quinn said, it could have played out differently.

"The hindsight, you don't want to think that way, where injury could take place," Quinn told reporters after the 38-14 loss. "You're more conservative in that spot, running and handoffs and not have reads to go."

Daniels had already missed three games due to injury – a knee ailment that kept him out Weeks 3 and 4, and a more-recent hamstring injury that caused him to miss the Commanders' game six days prior against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Halfway through the fourth quarter and the Commanders trailing 38-7, Daniels took a shotgun snap from the Seahawks' two-yard line. Seahawks linebacker Drake Thomas wrapped him up and flung the quarterback, listed at a generous 210 pounds. Daniels' left arm landed awkwardly and bent in a way that no arm should.

Asked if they'd handle Daniels differently in the future, Quinn mostly demurred.

"It's really important we get that part right," he said. "And we will."

The play that resulted in the injury is a run-pass option, Quinn said, but not a designed run for the quarterback. If they ran the play 50 times, then 50 times it would be a handoff or a pass, Quinn predicted.

"Just the end result, I'm bummed," Quinn said.

The Commanders fell to 3-6 with a hefty dose of standalone games through the second half of the season. They've battled the injury bug all year long. Running back Austin Ekeler ruptured his Achilles. After a training camp contract standoff, wide receiver Terry McLaurin has been unable to stay healthy. Another wideout, Luke McCaffrey, left on the first play of the game against the Seahawks.

But the "Sunday Night Football" result wasn't due to injuries, Quinn said.

"I don't have to ask that question. I know what happened," Quinn said.

He elaborated. Penalties (eight for 87 yards) on both sides of the ball. The lack of stops, as the Seahawks hung 418 net yards on the defense. Washington's offense gained 4.7 yards per play, but Seattle's was going at a 8.7-yard-per-play clip.

"I'm furious," Quinn said of his team's performance.

"Just (an) unacceptable performance ... we missed it by a mile," he added.

And gutted for his quarterback.

The reaction across the Commanders' locker room largely mirrored that of Quinn's.

"It's gut-wrenching," right guard Sam Cosmi told the Washington Post.

The Buffalo Bills won their fifth straight regular-season title bout with the Kansas City Chiefs, but it came at a steep price: The loss of versatile defensive end Michael Hoecht.

One week after finally making a very impressive season debut for the Bills in Week 8 — after serving a six-game suspension — Hoecht suffered a season-ending Achilles injury against the Chiefs on Sunday. It cast the lone-but-costly shadow over the Bills' 28-21 win, which once against saw Buffalo put together the kind of performance it just can't seem to find in the postseason against Kansas City.

Now the Bills have to grapple with the loss of Hoecht on top of defensive tackle Ed Oliver, who had already been lost to a torn biceps that is expected to sideline him through at least the remainder of the regular season.

The silver lining: Hoecht's injury happened before Tuesday's NFL trade deadline, which gives the Bills an opportunity to do something about it. And they should — even with defensive tackle Larry Ogunjobi looking capable of filling at least some of the considerable void created by the loss of Oliver. Prior to Sunday's game, the Bills' determination to have an active deadline was modest at best. There was motivation to add a wideout if a veteran starter bargain presented itself. Now you can add pass rushing depth to that list of needs inside a season where the Bills have a very real shot to track down the No. 1 seed in the AFC and finally get over their postseason complex against the Chiefs.

That is, if the Chiefs can get themselves together in time to clinch a playoff spot. That's not a certainty at this point, with Kansas City falling out of the playoff picture after this defeat to the Bills. Sitting at 5-4, the Chiefs are a half game behind the Jacksonville Jaguars (5-3) for the last wild-card spot in the AFC. They have a bye in Week 10, then come out to face the AFC West-leading Denver Broncos in Week 11 on the road, then host the AFC South-leading Indianapolis Colts at home in Week 12. That's a hairy stretch for a team that saw quarterback Patrick Mahomes pressured repeatedly against the Bills' front, while once again showcasing that it lacks a big-play element out of the backfield.

Last year, the Chiefs weren't afraid to take trade shots on wideout DeAndre Hopkins and linebacker Josh Uche, with result that were mixed but not meaningless. While Uche never found a niche with the team, Hopkins factored nicely into nine post-trade regular-season wins and also caught a touchdown in a losing effort in the Super Bowl. He was certainly worth the fifth-round draft pick that he cost Kansas City. And like last year, the Chiefs could use modest help on both sides of the ball — particularly with a more dynamic running back and at least some depth at edge rusher, after seeing the defensive front get pushed around at times by the Bills in Sunday's loss.

Of course, the Chiefs and Bills aren't the only teams that experienced some added reasons to be buyers or sellers by Tuesday's deadline. Among the others who got nudged into a direction on Sunday …

Washington Commanders (sellers)

The Jayden Daniels injury on Sunday night was devastating for a team that was facing a referendum in Week 9 on the remainder of the season. Not only did the Commanders lose to the Seattle Seahawks in stunning fashion, they may have lost Daniels for the remainder of the season in the process. For a team that has a lot of old veterans on it — many of whom are destined for free agency in March — it's time to stack as much draft capital and salary cap savings as possible. There isn't much that other teams will be clamoring for, but Deebo Samuel could still be offloaded for a late-round pick to one of the plethora looking for wideouts. Sell.

Cincinnati Bengals (sellers)

At 3-6, the Bengals aren't going to be piecing together any kind of playoff run or shot at the AFC North title with this defense playing the way it is. And getting Trey Hendrickson back onto the field isn't going to solve the litany of problems. The Bengals are hopelessly broken on one side of the ball and keeping Hendrickson at this point would be just out of spite. Better to take whatever cap savings they can get in shedding the remainder of his 2025 salary and recouping whatever draft picks they can pry loose in the process. Nobody is going to see it as quitting at this stage — especially after watching Sunday's ugly defensive performance in a loss to a Chicago Bears offense that had been sputtering. Sell.

Las Vegas Raiders (sellers)

The season is over after the 30-29 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars, but there is still the matter of wideout Jakobi Meyers having some value on the market. The new data from Sunday? With Brock Bowers healthy, Meyers might not even be a top-four option in the passing game at this stage. Quarterback Geno Smith has been utilizing Bowers and tight end Michael Mayer, along with No. 1 wideout Tre Tucker and running back Ashton Jeanty in the pass game. There's also an ability to get targets to Tyler Lockett and some younger players. Meyers is a luxury the Raiders can afford but don't really need in terms of building the future. Sell.

New Orleans Saints (sellers)

At 1-8 and moving to see what rookie quarterback Tyler Shough has through the remainder of the season, the Saints are primed sellers. Maybe not everything, though. Keeping wideout Chris Olave makes sense. But wideout Rashid Shaheed, running back Alvin Kamara and tight end Juwan Johnson could all bring in some draft picks. Considering the Saints are going to be in the running for the No. 1 pick in the draft and a quarterback could be that selection, this is close to a total tear-down situation. There's no need to keep players you're going to lose in free agency (Shaheed) or whose ages don't make sense for a rebuild (Kamara and Johnson). Sell.

Detroit Lions (buyers)

This is a tricky one because the contract extension of defensive end Aidan Hutchinson and looming potential future extensions of running back Jahmyr Gibbs, safety Brian Branch, tight end Sam LaPorta and linebacker Jack Campbell necessitate as much salary cap savings as possible for the Lions. Adding a piece at this deadline is now a significant luxury that Detroit might not be able to afford. That said, Sunday's home loss to the Minnesota Vikings and the five sacks of Jared Goff are troubling. The Lions' offensive line — particularly the interior — continues to have lapses. Guard Kevin Zeitler, who was a key piece of the Lions' offensive line for years before departing to the Tennessee Titans in free agency, could be had for a song at this point. He'd be only a rental, but he comes in ready to start immediately for the Lions and shore up the interior of that line. Buy.

Indianapolis Colts (buyers)

The Colts looked very, very mortal in their loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Quarterback Daniel Jones was a disaster with his five turnovers and the final score of 27-20 wasn't nearly as close as it looks. There were a lot of problems for the Colts in this one, but the one that stood out too often is how comfortable Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers looked during extended stretches. Yes, he was sacked three times, but the Colts' pressure lacked the frenzied tenacity of what the Steelers were pouring onto Jones all game long. It's better to have the extra pass rushing pieces and not need them than to need them and not have them.

The Colts could have used another solid-to-plus pass rusher against the Steelers, and they'll need one for the playoffs at some point, too. Trey Hendrickson is the ideal piece, but if that's not achievable, it doesn't mean the Colts shouldn't shop for another edge. Buy.

Denver Broncos (buyers)

The Broncos have been flirting with far too many close games this season. They're 7-2 and that looks great, but there have been multiple tight fourth quarters that could have wrecked that record. Denver's defense, frankly, will be fine. At full health, that unit is ready to go and compete with any team in the AFC, including the Chiefs and Colts. The offense, on the other hand, still feels like it lacks an explosive element in the receiving game. Or at the very least, a consistent explosive element in the receiving game. Someone experienced. Well, head coach Sean Payton has a longstanding friendship and relationship with his former New Orleans Saints general manager Mickey Loomis. And Loomis has a very tradable Rashid Shaheed. This would work in a very big way for the Broncos. And they need it after reflecting on Sunday's narrow win over the Houston Texans. Buy.

Daya Betty's roast of Ross Mathews might've landed with lukewarm reception from the *RuPaul's Drag Race* judges, but that doesn't mean she didn't at least *try* to turn up the heat with her originally planned set of jokes.

Appearing on the latest episode of EW's BINGE podcast, Daya reveals that she cut a few jokes from her routine during the comedy challenge, but promises that some of them remain too controversial to tell.

"I had a whole list of 'Ross Mathews is so gay' jokes. One I had that didn't make the cut was: Ross Mathews is so gay, his favorite moisturizer was Astroglide," Daya recalls, adding with a laugh that others didn't make it past the initial screening process for far more hilarious reasons. "The people in the room that were ok'ing [the jokes] were like, 'Nope, you can't stay that!' I'm not even going to say it here because it's probably way too inappropriate. There was plenty [of] crazier, more inappropriate jokes. I'll just say it was severely inappropriate and there was a reason it was not aired."

She says the challenge also wrapped with an impromptu set from Michelle Visage, which she says the queens thoroughly enjoyed. But, for most of them — including eliminated queen DeJa Skye, who left alongside Jorgeous after they lost a three-way lip-sync against Daya — the roast actually began in the Werk Room as the queens workshopped their material among the sisterhood.

"We kind of used each other as practice dummies. Especially DeJa. DeJa was the best at it. She'd sit down in her little corner and she'd yell out a joke randomly, and we'd all be like, thumbs up, thumbs down, and, let's be honest, they were pretty much all thumbs down," Daya remembers. "You saw the episode, I had some thumbs down myself. It turned into a collaborative effort. I personally was working on my jokes even after makeup. I was still finessing jokes."

*RuPaul's Drag Race* Zoom reunions that could, without question, also pass for the *Mortal Kombat* character selection screen? No more! Angeria Paris VanMicheals joins *EW's BINGE* podcast to dish on the season 14 closer, including the show's first live reunion in three years that the finalist promises will be a dramatic moment where brewing tension comes to a head.

"What you can expect is a lot of unresolved situations between people coming to a head, finally," Angeria explains of the upcoming reunion, set to air Friday at 8 p.m. ET/PT on VH1. "The reunion of course is a moment where everybody gets to address those things they might've known had been said or might've not known. We've all been watching confessionals, so this is the moment for everything to be laid out on the table."

Without naming names, Angeria remembers feeling that things were "left unresolved" between certain cast members when they were eliminated from the competition, and stresses that the reunion "is the moment to come back and say, okay, let's resolve this."

She also says the fact that this is the first live reunion in years adds to the excitement factor: "This isn't a Zoom reunion, girl. No shade to the other seasons. They did what they had to do," she continues. "But we're back, live, sitting with each other and Ru, so it's going to be a lot of fun."

Angeria also teases something else might soon turn red-hot in the future: Her friendship with fellow season 14 finalist Lady Camden. After the adorable duo admitted there might be a mutual crush brewing in the Werk Room when they first laid eyes on each other during the premiere, Camden later promised to take her new friend to San Francisco's BDSM-centric Folsom Street Fair after Angeria's hilariously innocent reaction to finding out that it wasn't just, uh, a street carnival.

"I cannot confirm that this is a Brooke and Vanjie moment. Now, if we are *working* on a Brooke and Vanjie moment, that might be more of something. But, while the show is still going on, I know that myself and Lady for sure are trying to focus on everything when both of us have very busy schedules. Even if that was a thing, I don't think either one of us are able to handle anything that could blossom seriously," she says. "I think I can proudly say that both of us would be open to future possibilities when [we] have a little more of a handle on things. Right now, things are entirely too busy to be thinking about any kind of thing, so until then, she's going to take me to Folsom."

Earlier in the episode, Angeria's fellow RuGirl and friend (as well as former pageant competitor) Silky Nutmeg Ganache joined EW's *Quick Drag* Twitter Spaces to spill her thoughts on the upcoming season 14 finale, recounting how she felt heading into the season 11 finale back in 2019.

"I know each girl is heading into the finale with a different goal. For me, when I went into season 11, to the finale, I knew that I was not going to win season 11. I felt in my heart of hearts.... I didn't think I had a chance at all. My goal going into it was to look as beautiful as possible, and to lose with my grace and my dignity," Silky says, adding that she felt the fandom and perception from the show painted her in an unflattering light. "This season, with them having a top five, I can't even imagine what these girls are going in with. Is it going to be another lip-sync smackdown where they're lip-syncing against each other and it's dwindling? With a bigger cast, it's more stressful for them. If they have self-doubt on top of this stress, I think it's going to show. I hope that no girl feels that way or feel what I felt going into the finale."

Silky previously opened up to EW about the mistreatment she received in the industry (including losing paid gigs) after her time on season 11, which featured sustained depictions of her arguments with other queens — particularly Yvie Oddly, which she says didn't reflect the true reality of the situation.

"I will feel validated when I start to get the roles on television shows or I get my own reality show just like those judges said that I needed," she told EW after her show-stopping domination of the *All Stars 6* lip-sync smackdown, which saw her slay five consecutive lip-sync performances in one episode. "I'm grateful that the fans are doing what they're doing now, but I went back on *All Stars* to excel in my career. Now is the time where I'm hoping that all the people that said, 'We need to see you more,' actually put in the action and aren't afraid to back me up because of the feedback they think they'd get."

The doors Kandy Muse opened for backpack skirts — like the one she wore during her infamous *Untucked* clash with Tamisha Iman — can still be felt on the *RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars 7* runway, and the "Producer" herself has something to say about it.

But before diving into our latest recap of *AS7* on *EW's BINGE* podcast (below), the season 13 runner-up exclusively tells EW how she patched things up with Tamisha at RuPaul's DragCon L.A. last month, following a turbulent period in the costars' relationship throughout most of 2021.

"I wasn't sure how it was going to go between me and Tamisha, because I knew we had to do the queen walk, and we hadn't spoken since the whole blocked-on-Instagram situation," Kandy recalls of lining up to walk the pink carpet atop the main floor at the drag convention. "We were back stage, I looked at her, she looked at me, we just went up to each other, hugged each other and were like, 'Hey girl, how have you been?'"

Kandy says fellow cast member Denali then suggested that she stand with Tamisha as the cast hit the carpet, when she remembers Tamisha asking her if they wanted to "walk together" in front of fans for the first time since they publicly butted heads across social media following their iconic argument on *Untucked*.

"I was like, 'Yeah, you know what, you go out there first, pause on the carpet, then I'll go out there and we'll hold hands.' It really was a moment," Kandy says. "For the rest of that weekend, I kept popping back up and she kept popping back up at my booth and [we were] having a good time. We're in the works of working out something together for the future.... absolutely, why not, I think people love the dynamic of me and Tamisha for whatever reason, so, let's make it work. Life is too short. It's not personal, it's just drag!"

Turning her attention to *All Stars 7*, Kandy also says she got a kick out of judge Michelle Visage praising last week's challenge winner Jaida Essence Hall for using bags on her skirt over a year after the season 13 finalist memorably hot-glued a bunch of backpacks to her waist for her ball challenge back in 2021.

"I thought Jaida looked incredible, and when Michelle [asked] who would've thought to put backpacks on a skirt on a ball episode, which is exactly what I did on my ball episode, I was like, hmm, interesting," Kandy says with a laugh, going on to reveal that she had initially begun to construct an entirely different outfit made of plaid acrylic bags, but decided against it at the last minute as she pivoted to the colorful backpack ensemble she created.

She says the look is still in her closet, though the fragile piece is "hanging on by a thread, or by glue," and might only make a comeback if her planned collaboration with Tamisha ever comes to fruition.

Untucked Kandy VH1

Kandy ultimately feels that the *All Stars 7* ball ranks as "cohesively, one of the best balls" in franchise her-story — even with the threat of season 7 winner Violet Chachki booting fan-favorite looks, like she recently did to Raja.

"I think that it's hilarious, I think that people take the opinions of other people way too literal and serious," Kandy says of the drama surrounding Raja getting "booted" on the *Fashion Photo RuView* recap show Violet hosts with season 13's Gottmik. "To me, a boot from Violet Chachki is just a boot from Violet Chachki. It doesn't change or make anything. Fashion, to me, is art, and art is subjective. Some people thought that my alien look was campy, some people hated the alien look, the beauty is behind the beholder's eye — or whatever the saying is."
